5 favorite things

This week, I decided to do my blog on my 5 favorite things in fashion. All of them will be pretty unusual, i'm sure. First off, I would like to tell you that my favorite things are holographic, fuzzy, and shiny things. My favorite types of shoes are platforms, jelly sandals, creepers, and flatform platforms.

1) The holographic lavender outift

The outfit to the left is so adorable. The shoes are platforms with holographic straps. I also love the lavender skater skirt and crop top. What makes it even better is that shiny, sheer, slightly holographic scarf and purple holographic hand bag.

2) The see-through sunflower pencil skirt.

This skirt is by far one of my favorites. I love the fact that its see-through and has pretty sunflowers. I have no idea what i would wear under it, but I could definitely see myself wearing this.
3) Fish bowl backpack

This fishbowl backpack is definitely unique and rad as heck! I wish I had one!! But, I feel like it would be torture for the fish being sloshed around all day.
4) Unicorn flatform platforms

These are literally the best shoes ever. I'm completely in love with unicorns and i think rainbows are gorgeous, so those are two reasons why I love it. Another reason, the height of the shoes. They're just all-around perfect. I even know what website to find these on! They have one of a kind shoes and clothes that I think you would love if your style is like mine. http://www.dollskill.com/
5) Fuzzy pink barbie backpack

Well I think it's pretty obvious why i like this one, IT'S FUZZY! As I said before, I absolutely love fuzzy things. I would definitely wear this.

Who created BubbleGoth??

Bubble Goth was created by Kerli  Koiv, who was born in Elva, Estonia on February 7, 1987(age 27). The idea came about when she released her album, Love Is Dead. People kept saying she was goth because when she made that album, she was going through a dark time, so the songs had very dark lyrics to them. But, one of the critics said she was more along the lines of bubblegum goth because you can feel her reaching for the light through all of the darkness. She said she liked the idea of bubble goth and that's what she's going to call her music, as well as create a style to go along with it. She describes BubbleGoth as putting together light and dark, opposites, and things that you don't really necessarily think go together. Kerli cites the Spice Girls as being a fmajor influence on BubbleGoth. The difference in the musical style and composition in Love Is Dead compared to her second album's composition is significant. Love Is Dead being alternative rock and the new material being along the lines of synthpop.

Kerli frequently wears three dots called "moon marks" that represent integrity, love, and unity, three things that are also followed Moon Children, which is an elaborated fan community/street team established by Kerli in 2006 for people "feel too much and find it hard to exist in this world, so that they wouldn't think they're crazy." It originally began as a "gathering for indigo kids" but developed into a movement of "integrity, Love and Unity" which is "trying to be the best you can be, taking responsibility for your living with your eyes open. Trying to make the most of your experience and striving for perfection while understanding it's okay not to be perfect. " She says she wishes the world would already be in a place where everyone is equally able to marry, adopt and live their life without having to explain themselves.

In 2011, she was listed as one of the 100 Most Influential Estonian Women.

She has said that she has bipolar disorder and attempted suicide when she was 17 as a result of a troubled upbringing. She now states that her upbringing has made her stronger and now she can be there for other kids who are like her and she's happy to be alive. She describes life as a beautiful and rare gift. During a live video chat with fans on October 7, 2011, she recalled when she was 17 and would ask her local doctor to sedate her with medication because it hurt her so much to be awake due to her depression. She also recalled when she was home alone when she was 17 where she covered the windows with dark towels to block out the sunlight and began cutting herself and slitting her arms with rusty scissors stating that "she wanted to die" and "couldn't feel any physical pain at all because she was just hurting so much inside"

I discovered Kerli about a week ago, and i'm already so in love with her, her music and style, Her style is exactly what my style is. I really look up to her . She inspires me to love myself, and be creative. Kerli makes almost all of her own clothes and shoes, she even has some videos on You Tube showing you how she creates some of her things. Which, as I said before, inspires me to be creative and make my own clothing, even though i don't believe i'm talented enough to. But who knows, maybe i'll surprise myself!! I really hope that whoever's reading this realizes that they are not alone even when they think they are. Now for some music to listen to!!!

The video underneath the video to the left is a song from her Utopia album called Zero gravity. If you watch the video, you'll notice the amazing rainbow hair and platform boots that i'm in love with. She made everything she wore in this video. The video up above is another song from the same album called Army Of Love. She also created most of the looks in that video herself. Finally, the video to the left is an interview where she explains further about the bubble goth style. Notice, she is wearing the three dots on her forhead representing integrity, Love and Unity.

A little bit about my style & intro to blog.

For this particular blog, I wanted to explain to you guys my style an opinions on things involving different types of fashion.

I guess you could say I have an odd taste in fashion, but what you call odd, I call edgy & unique. As you may already know, there are many different types of fashions, some of which you may NOT already know of, such as, Kawaii, Lolita, Zef, grunge, goth (or otherwise known as "emo"), scene, pale, pastel goth, bubble goth, pastel grunge, e.t.c. I feel that what makes my style more unique than other people's is the fact that I'm into a little bit of everything. Unfortunately, there's  an obstacle in my way that doesn't allow me to be able to express my style in the ways I want to, where as a lot of other people can. But of course, there are other types of fashion I'm into, but wouldn't like to wear a lot, like Kawaii fashion. Kawaii fashion originated among the Japanese culture in the 1970's as part of a new style of writing. Later, cute handwriting became associated with acting childishly and using slang words. Because of this Kawaii trend, companies such as Sanrio, who came out with merchandise like Hello Kitty. (The sight I got my information on)
Site I got Lolita information from.
Another Type of fashion I'm into, but wouldn't like to wear a lot, is Lolita fashion. Lolita is a street fashion and a subculture in Japan known for its delicate doll-like look. It's inspired by the Rococo and Victorian eras. I personally think that the Lolita style is a really interesting type of fashion. The Japanese culture is so amazing to me, and makes me want to learn more about it. The make-up these girls do in order to have a doll-like impression is time consuming and most definitely not easy to master. There are a lot of intricate details in everything that goes into the clothing and make-up. Some of them even make their own Lolita and Kawaii clothes, as well as wear wigs and eye contacts all the time. Fashion is definitely a passion of mine. The main reason why I chose to do a huge majority of my blog on edgy fashion is because it's a way for me to be able to share my true style and everything that I am with my school as well as the world. I'm happy to report that over the summer I really got to start expressing my style, show people who I am, and figure myself out. I do know one person (I wont name names) that thinks that I'm copying their piercings and style, but I'm actually not, I'm just finally expressing myself in ways that people weren't expecting from me. Another thing that I want to talk about on this blog is society. What my opinion on touchy subjects are. Share my thoughts and beliefs with anybody who reads this, and I think you will be surprised by what you see from me. This blog is a good way for me to vent and finally feel like I have a voice, and I thank you for taking your time to read it.
